The member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Saleh Faqi, considered today, Friday (July 19, 2024), that what is currently happening in the Kurdistan Region is a Turkish expansion that differs from previous operations.[/size]
[size=45]Faqi said in an interview, “What is happening is a new drawing of the borders, and there are entire areas in Dohuk that have come under the control of the Turkish army.”[/size]
[size=45]He added, "What the Turkish forces are doing is different from every time. Every time, they carry out a specific bombardment with missiles, artillery and drones, or set up a military base, but what they are doing now is the process of drawing and establishing borders."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the position of the regional government and the federal government is incomprehensible, and this silence is illogical."[/size]
[size=45]Reports and information indicate that the current Turkish incursion into the Kurdistan Region was carried out in agreement and coordination with Baghdad and Erbil, especially with the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Baghdad a few months ago.[/size]
[size=45]Turkish army information indicates that Operation Claw-Lock aims to penetrate 40 kilometers deep into Iraqi territory and “purify” this region of PKK militants and establish it as a safe belt, in an operation consistent with Baghdad’s goals of securing the region as part of the development path.[/size]
