    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Former Kurdish MP Yusra Rajab confirmed today, Sunday (July 21, 2024), that the propaganda of the Kurdish parties towards Baghdad "has expired" and has become exposed, considering that the compass of the propaganda will be about the conflict between the two ruling parties.
Rajab said in an interview with Baghdad Today that "the propaganda about the Kurds' oppression and describing Baghdad as chauvinistic has ended and is now a thing of the past," indicating that "the ruling parties have begun to look for new methods of propaganda for the upcoming elections for the regional parliament."
She added, "The Kurdish citizen has become aware and no longer cares about these methods. Therefore, there are new methods of propaganda through the conflict between the two parties and the exchange of accusations. Each party will try to place the blame on the other and will hold the other responsible for the failure within the region."
Rajab pointed out that "the ruling parties will exchange accusations and will wage a fierce media war, and the Kurdish people will be its victim."
It is expected that the sixth Kurdistan Parliament elections will be held on October 20, 2024, for the first time since 2018, after being delayed for more than two years. They were scheduled to be held in 2022, but were postponed more than once.
Observers believe that localizing the salaries of the region’s employees and security forces in Kurdistan directly to Baghdad will greatly affect the extent of the subordination and harmony of the citizens of Kurdistan with the ruling parties in the region.
In the 2018 Kurdistan elections, the participation rate was 57%, the lowest in Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, and the highest in Dohuk.
