[rtl]The Deputy Executive Director of the Iraqi Private Banks Association, Ahmed Al-Hashemi, confirmed that there is significant and clear growth in the banking sector, while he considered the localization of salaries as the "basis" for starting the digital transformation of payments.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Hashemi said, during the Digital Transformation Youth Conference (DTI Youth), that "the Central Bank of Iraq is the sponsor of the digital transformation project for payments," noting that "localization is the basis for starting the digital transformation of payments."[/rtl]
[rtl]He pointed out that "the banking sector is witnessing significant and clear growth, and there is a clear increase in the number of payment instruments, bank accounts, and other indicators," adding, "We have noticed a good acceptance of cards by Iraqi society."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The Central Bank issued instructions for digital banks, which will play a role in the development of the sector," stressing that "companies have a very important role in the advancement of the digital transformation of payments, and we have noticed great cooperation from companies to support the government's electronic collection project."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Deputy Executive Director of the Private Banks Association explained that "there are emerging companies that also have a major role in the field of electronic payment and digital transformation, such as Miswak and others," indicating that "youth need to know new fields, including data analysis and cybersecurity."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Hashemi continued: “There must be a strong and honest private technology sector operating in Iraq and we must move away from the oil economy,” explaining: “We are happy with the presence of a large number of people interested in the field of digital transformation compared to previous years.”[/rtl]
