The head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Atwan Al-Atwani, announced the completion of the discussion of the draft amendment to the Personnel Law.

Al-Atwani addressed the Presidency of the Council of Representatives in a letter to include the law on the agenda of the upcoming sessions for a final vote.

The Personnel Law is concerned with determining the number of job grades needed by ministries and departments in the Iraqi government according to the calculations of deletion, creation and actual need. It was first issued in 1956, to be cancelled and replaced by the current law in 1960, which has undergone more than 20 amendments over the course of successive governments in Iraq.
