Al-Shammari said in a speech during the opening of the second Baghdad International Conference on Combating Drugs, which was followed by Sumaria News, that "Baghdad welcomes its brothers and looks forward to getting rid of the danger of drugs," indicating that "the scourge of drugs has become a specter that haunts our youth."
Al-Shammari added, "The danger of drugs is increasing strongly, and we need an international document to contain the scourge of drugs," noting that "cooperation and coordination to confront the danger of drugs is an urgent necessity."
Al-Shammari explained that "without fruitful cooperation, the threat of drugs will continue," noting that "numerous procedures and well-studied plans have been initiated to pursue drug dealers."
The Minister of Interior pointed out that "Iraq has brought down big heads in the drug trade, and we have concluded memoranda of understanding with many countries to confront the phenomenon of drugs."
