Politician Bahaa al-Araji stated that he has not yet decided to return to the political scene, noting that he now enjoys more freedom than before.
In an interview followed by Mawazine News, al-Araji said: "Previously and later, the 'current' could put a Sadrist in the position of prime minister, and it is not thinking about it in the future." He added: "The Iraqi judiciary is a guarantee and protection for everyone, and it is the first judiciary in the world to issue an arrest warrant for an American president."
Al-Araji stressed: "I am a Sadrist to the core, but I disagree politically with the brothers in the current," noting that despite his disagreement with him, al-Sadr strongly supported Nouri al-Maliki in the file of expelling the Americans from the country.
He continued: "The Americans are leaving with calm and understanding, not confrontation, and al-Sudani is on his way to ending the file of the international coalition."
Al-Araji praised a number of Iraqi figures, describing al-Sadr as a "real leader," al-Maliki as a "man of courageous decisions," Barzani as a "leader who has proven his presence," and al-Halbousi as a "successful president."
