[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee stressed the importance of benefiting from Indian expertise in the fields of health, education and information technology.
The head of the committee, MP Dilan Ghafoor Saleh, discussed with the Indian Ambassador Prashant Pisai the mechanism for enhancing joint cooperation between the two countries, and the possibility of establishing hospitals or health centers in Iraq to alleviate the burden of Iraqi citizens who endure the trouble of traveling to India for treatment, as well as cooperation and exchange of expertise related to legislation and parliamentary issues.
In turn, the Indian ambassador provided a briefing on the recent elections in India and the foreign relations priorities of the new Indian government. He also reviewed the Indian parliamentary system "which includes the Senate and the People's Assembly" and the mechanism for holding elections in the Indian states, and the differences and similarities with the Iraqi parliamentary system.
The Indian ambassador confirmed that "his country annually grants 50 scholarships to all Iraqi governorates to study for master's and doctoral degrees, as it aspires to increase the number in the coming years to 75 scholarships, in addition to ongoing courses for ethnic doctors and other Iraqi cadres." / End 5[/rtl]
