Member of the State of Law Coalition, Sabah Al-Bazouni, said today, Wednesday, that Iraq’s move towards manufacturing “light armament” will ease the American control over this field.
Al-Bazouni told Al-Maalouma Agency, "Iraq wants to finance itself with light weapons to maintain its internal security and get out of the American pressure that controls the armament field."
He added, "Arming is not an easy matter, as it costs the state large sums of money that strain the budget. However, moving towards opening factories for equipment and weapons inside the country is a step in the right direction, because it will contribute to financing the armed forces with light weapons."
He stressed "Iraq's ability to manufacture light weapons by concluding contracts with other countries to obtain raw materials." End 25N
