    A specialized committee in the Council of Ministers, in coordination with the Baghdad Municipality, is studying the controls prepared by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities to include social protection beneficiaries in plots of land.
    The official spokesman for the Ministry of Construction, Istibraq Sabah, explained in an interview with "Al-Sabah", followed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that the government decided in October of last year 2023 to include the segment of social protection beneficiaries in plots of land allocated to them by municipal departments in Baghdad and the governorates, according to controls prepared by the ministry. He
    added that the General Directorate of Municipalities in the ministry prepared a draft of the inclusion controls and the application mechanism, and submitted it to the Council of Ministers, which in turn formed a joint committee with the Baghdad Municipality and relevant authorities, in order to study the draft controls and put the final version of it.
    He explained that if the competent committee in the Council of Ministers approves the controls, the municipal departments will be contacted to allocate plots of land to the beneficiaries included according to the database with their numbers at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, namely widows, divorcees, wives of missing persons, and elderly unmarried women, in addition to families with no income, in addition to the fact that the Ministry of Labor can identify other humanitarian cases such as cancer patients according to the requests submitted to it.
