    [ltr]Basra provincial council member Ahmad al-Sulaiti revealed on Sunday the size of the financial obligations of the province to companies and contractors, pointing out that it is indebted to more than 90 billion dinars.[/ltr]
    [ltr]Al-Sulaiti said in an interview with Mawazin News that "the financial commitments of the province of Basra exceeded 90 billion dinars," likely to "increase by the end of this year in case the situation continues as it is."[/ltr]
    [ltr]The member of the Basra Council, to "stop many investment and service projects in the province," attributed the reason to "not to spend the financial allocations allocated to them, as a result of the lack of funds."[/ltr]

    [ltr]Basra province includes large oil fields, including Rumaila, West Qurna, Shuaiba and Majnoon fields. It accounts for 80 percent of the oil and gas reserves. Its imports are close to 70 percent of the general budget. Acquisition of 70 percent of imports. But it suffers from great economic and service problems[/ltr]
