Analysts predicted that the US dollar will see further decline against the single European currency and the yen next year, as further economic growth and monetary tightening outside the United States.

"The current economic growth in the euro zone, emerging markets and the rest of the world could trigger further selling of the green card," Irene Browne, a UBS analyst at Bloomberg, told Bloomberg on Wednesday.

She added that the dollar could reach the euro to the level of 1.30 dollars in 2018, representing a decline of about 10.7% of the US currency, and expected the Japanese yen to achieve further gains against the dollar.

Since the beginning of the year the US dollar has fallen about 7% against major currencies, the biggest decline in more than a decade.

"Most people will not be surprised at the end of next year if the US currency is exposed to a significant drop, especially against the euro," said Daniel Katziv, a strategist at BNP Paribas.

An analyst with Deutsche Bank said the yen was very cheap, pointing out that when it turned away, it would rise relatively sharply.

"If the Bank of Japan moves towards monetary policy change, there is a huge chance of a big move for the Japanese currency," he said.

Central banks have begun to tighten monetary policy. From January, the ECB will cut its bond purchases by 30 billion euros.
