PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macaron is in "frank" talks with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on tax and data privacy within a week when he meets leaders of leading technology companies in Paris as part of a new drive to attract more investment.
According to the French president's office, Macron will meet with Zuckerberg and more than 10 corporate executives at the Technology for Good summit, where he will present his vision for the development of French companies and discussions on his efforts to impose EU tax revenues on digital companies and launch a tougher war on false news .
Intel's chief executive officer, Virginia Rometi, Intel CEO Bryan Karzanic and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella are also expected to attend the summit.
The 40-year-old Macroun himself is an advocate of young French people who are in the throes of modern times and wants to turn his country into a "rising nation" but is making efforts in Europe to make digital companies pay more taxes at the source.
