BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohamed Halboussi on Wednesday condemned the criminal acts committed by elements calling on terrorists who targeted unarmed civilians seeking their livelihood in the desert of Anbar province.
Halaboussi stressed in a statement "the need to tighten the screws on the elements of the organization and pursue them in their caves deep in the Western Sahara and eliminate them completely."
He called on the Speaker of the House of Representatives "civilians not to enter deep in the desert areas away from the control of the security forces, and not become easy prey to terrorism, and to miss the opportunity to elements seeking to destabilize security and stability in the liberated areas."
Terrorist gangs kidnapped two people yesterday, 12 people who were gathering truffles deep into the desert of Nukhayb district near Anbar province. The bodies of six martyrs were found Tuesday in the depth of Western Sahara.
In the past few days there have been similar kidnappings in western Anbar, specifically between Rawa and Haditha for civilians who were gathering truffles and a number of them were released while the fate of others remains unknown. Finished 1
