King Abdullah II and Iraqi President Barham Salih (Youssef Al-Allan)[/size]
[size=17][rtl]While the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was content with calling for containing the crisis and reducing escalation in Iraq, the Jordanians showed a great reaction on social media, regarding the news of the assassination of the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, between a rejoicing majority over his killing, and a minority fearful of the repercussions on the region.[/rtl]
[rtl]The Soleimani mark was topped the list of the badges circulating in Jordan in a noticeable way, and the reason for this interest is due to the history of Qassem Soleimani in the Jordanian memory, as he used to launch provocative statements to Jordanians and the recruitment of terrorist cells targeting the Kingdom.[/rtl]
[rtl]Threats and sleeper cells[/rtl]
[rtl]For years, the Jordanian authorities have accused the Iranian Revolutionary Guard of trying to find a foothold on Jordanian soil and the formation of sleeper terrorist cells. In 2016, a terrorist attack targeted the headquarters of the Jordanian Intelligence Service in the Baqa'a Palestinian refugee camp, killing five.[/rtl]
[rtl]Although ISIS adopted the attack, Jordanian security services formed the assumptions that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards were standing behind him, according to statements attributed to Qasim Soleimani, in which he said, "Iran added Jordan to the list of countries it controls, and that Jordan has the possibility of an Islamic revolution that can Iran has to control it. "[/rtl]
[rtl]Although the Iranian embassy in Amman tried to alleviate the weight of these statements by denying them, a number of deputies in the Jordanian parliament called on the government at the time to confront the Iranian provocations and force Tehran to apologize.[/rtl]
[rtl]A new enemy[/rtl]
[rtl]In 2015, Jordanian security authorities arrested a spy working for Iran, who was charged with creating sleeper cells aimed at disrupting security and carrying out massive bombings.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to the investigations, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards recruited the Iraqi citizen Khaled Kazem Jassim Al-Rubaie, who also holds Norwegian citizenship, to carry out a massive detonation plan on Jordanian soil, with about 45 kilograms of explosives, hidden in the Thafur Asfour area in the north of the Kingdom, in addition to being charged with forming sleeper cells.[/rtl]
[rtl]The authorities then thwarted the plan, but added a new enemy to the kingdom alongside ISIS, and months before it seized attempts to smuggle drugs and weapons across the Syrian-Jordanian borders and pointed fingers at Iran, which is disturbed by Jordan's political stance towards the Syrian crisis.[/rtl]
[rtl]Soleimani is an instigator against Jordan[/rtl]
[rtl]On the other hand, the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Qabas quoted in 2015 the semi-official Iranian agency, Yisna, saying to Suleimani that "his country is present in Lebanon and Iraq, and that these two countries are subject in one way or another to Tehran's will and ideas, and that this possibility is available in Jordan."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Hezbollah website, Al-Manar, also published the same statements by the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani.[/rtl]
[rtl]On the other hand, the former Jordanian minister, Saleh al-Qallab, says that Soleimani was always inciting against Jordan through the so-called "coalition of the rule of law" in the Iraqi parliament, and that the former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, who is close to Soleimani, put pressure on Jordan in implementation of this incitement. The Iraqi-Jordanian relations during his reign were almost complete.[/rtl]
[rtl]Iran holds the key to the Iraqi-Jordanian portal, and while the Jordanian King Abdullah II tried to return Iraq to the Arab embrace and revive economic partnerships with it, Soleimani repeatedly broke through his tools in Baghdad an agreement to provide Jordan with Iraqi oil at preferential prices and thwart a major project for the electrical connection between the two countries.[/rtl]
[rtl]Jordanians do not like Iran[/rtl]
[rtl]David Pollock, an American researcher at the Institute for Near East Policy, refers to a 2015 survey in Jordan that Jordanians neither love Iran nor Hezbollah.[/rtl]
[rtl]According to the survey, most Jordanians see the need to pay attention to what has been called the Iranian threat and the conflict between Iran and the Arab countries.[/rtl]
[rtl]As for the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah II, who visited an orphan to Tehran in 2003, and was the first to warn of the Shiite Crescent in 2004, it is expected that Iran will tighten its control over several Arab countries.[/rtl]
[rtl]A large part of Jordanians support the Syrian revolution, and they see in Qassem Soleimani the most responsible responsible for killing the Syrians by supporting and forming sectarian militias there.[/rtl]
[rtl]Therefore, Jordanian popular reactions to social media have emerged from some tweets and publications critical of Hamas because of its official obituary to Soleimani and described as the Mujahid martyr.[/rtl]
[rtl]It also seemed remarkable to describe two former Jordanian ministers of Suleimani as doom and murderer, as former Minister Muhammad Dawudiyya Qasim Soleimani was described as "perished and monster", while the minister and Jordan's former ambassador in Tehran d. Bassam Al-Amoush by saying "the end of a murderer."[/rtl]
