In this regard, the spokesman for the Cabinet Secretariat, Haider Majid, told (Al-Mada), that “Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi directed the formation of a committee to oversee the development process of Sadr City, as the committee started and held many meetings, plans and visions were drawn up, and the allocated land and its location were chosen. “. Majid added, "The current stage is witnessing the development of designs by one of the companies for a solid strategy," adding that "there will be direct referral to a Chinese company within the strategic framework agreement." He pointed out that "the project includes 90,000 housing units, a network of roads and vital integrated facilities, and linking them with other cities," stressing that "the project will encourage the construction process of neighboring cities and the employment of many labors inside the city." He continued his speech by saying that "the area on which the project will be built is empty and will not affect the residents of Sadr City currently," noting that "the project was divided into two phases."

On the other hand, the governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, revealed the launch of a campaign to rehabilitate the Al-Muntadhar neighborhood, an area that has suffered from a lack of services for a long time.
Speaking to Al-Mada, he explained that "Baghdad Governorate is working to provide all services to disadvantaged neighborhoods, especially the areas east of the Canal, which fall within the powers of the local government."
The project will start soon
For his part, the Director of the First Sadr City Municipality, Adel Al-Saadi, announced the imminent completion of the development of Al-Falah Street with international standards.
Al-Saadi, in an interview with (Al-Mada), said that “the development of the street will witness the addition of palm trees, central islands and parking spaces.”
He added that "the development of Al-Falah Street will be financed by the Municipality of Baghdad," noting that "the development and reconstruction of Sadr City will be soon."
In a previous statement, the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, confirmed that the project for the development and reconstruction of Sadr City would be a real breakthrough for the urban development of Baghdad.
He pointed out that "there is a real will on the part of the Iraqi government, under the direct guidance of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, to start the project."
It is noteworthy that the Mayor of Baghdad, Alaa Maan, called on specialized and leading Jordanian companies to participate and compete with other Arab and Iraqi companies in the implementation of Baghdad Renaissance projects, pointing to the transfer of the largest investment contract to two Emirati and Jordanian companies.
