    [rtl]Baghdad / Al-Mawrid News[/rtl]

[rtl]Today, Tuesday, the Federal Court of Cassation decided to accept the Federal Integrity Commission’s appeal against the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court’s decision of simple imprisonment against the former Undersecretary of the Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, and other officials in the Department of Migration and Displacement in the Kirkuk IDP relief case .[/rtl]
[rtl]The Investigations Department of the Integrity Commission said in a statement, "The convicts unjustly refrained from performing their duties when they were members of the Sub-Committee for the Relief of Displaced Families in Kirkuk Governorate, during 2014 and 2015, noting that the Commission was not satisfied with the decision of the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court to cause A simple one-year prison sentence with a suspended sentence for each of the former Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works, the Director of the Department of Migration and Displacement - Kirkuk branch, as well as the directors of the Legal Affairs and Audit Departments in the Provincial Court, so she distinguished the decision before the Federal Court of Cassation .[/rtl]
[rtl]The department added that the convicts had unjustly abstained from performing their duties. This led to the emergence of a large number of violations that accompanied the work of their committee, which were referred to in the report of the Board of Financial Supervision, such as exaggeration in the prices of materials and labor wages, noting that the sentence issued against the convicts is not commensurate with the gravity of the act committed, and does not achieve the general deterrence required of the penalty . .[/rtl]
[rtl]And she continued, "The commission asked the Federal Court of Cassation to conduct discriminatory checks, to overturn the decision and to tighten the penalty and make it commensurate with the gravity of the act committed in accordance with the conviction article ."[/rtl]
[rtl]It is worth noting that the Central Anti-Corruption Criminal Court issued a decision on December 21, 2021, stipulating a simple one-year imprisonment, with a stay of execution against the aforementioned convicts, according to the statement .[/rtl]
