    [size=45]Yesterday, Wednesday, the Labor Committee and Civil Society Organizations in the House of Representatives decided to proceed with the legislation of the “Retirement and Social Security Law for Workers”, after discussing the proposed law with the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Hakim Al-Zamili.[/size]
    [size=45]This came during a meeting chaired by Al-Zamili, with the Labor Committee and the parliamentary civil society organizations, during which a proposal for the retirement and social security law for workers was discussed, with the withdrawal of a statement published on the Parliament’s website. Al-Zamili directed, according to an official statement issued by Parliament, received by Al-Mada, to “accelerate the preparation and maturity of this law in coordination with the Services Committee,” stressing that “the law will contribute to creating more job opportunities and reviving non-functional sectors such as agriculture, industry, services and tourism, in addition to to encourage investment.[/size]
    [size=45]Committee member Hussein Arab said earlier, "The current session will witness an increase in the number of those covered by social welfare salaries, as we seek to include 300,000 new families," noting that "the increase in social protection salaries is related to the government, which is sent to Parliament for approval."[/size]
    [size=45]He added, "The committee has in the current session a lot of plans, especially the adoption of the retirement and social security law, in addition to the fact that there are amendments to the laws of people with disabilities and the work body to raise the standard of living for families."[/size]
    [size=45]Regarding those who have exceeded social welfare salaries, Arabs said, “During the past year, 21,000 salaries in excess of social welfare were suspended, since most of them are employees and their financial conditions are good,” noting that “the punishment for those who violated welfare salaries is to cut the salary and referral to the judiciary with payment of all salaries.” Retroactively received by the violator during the previous years.[/size]
