[size=45]On Monday, the Iraqi Ministry of Planning confirmed the continuation of discussing the draft national document on population policies and its response to national and international obligations, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund.[/size]
[size=45]The ministry organized, according to a statement, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, a workshop during which they discussed the extent to which the draft document responds to population policies with national and international obligations.[/size]
[size=45]According to the statement, the Director-General of the Department of Human Development Maha Abdul Karim Al-Rawi said, "Achieving well-being and a decent life for the population requires a number of procedures, interventions and commitments, whether in the direction of what is provided by international organizations or national governments, which seek accordingly to make their people happy and guarantee their living, economic and social rights." and security.”[/size]

[size=45]For his part, the representative of the United Nations Population Fund, Himyar Abdul Ghani, considered the National Population Policies Document as one of the “important topics in Iraq, as it is the basis for any development process in any country,” stressing the Fund’s readiness to “support national efforts in updating the document for population policies through Providing technical support and expertise at the regional and international levels.[/size]
[size=45]According to a statement by the Ministry of Planning, the workshop witnessed “presentations on the formulation of the expected interventions for the population policies document and the main directions of international documents in population policies.”[/size]
[size=45]The advisor of the United Nations Population Fund, Mahdi Al-Alaq, gave a presentation on the "proposed method for adapting the national document on population policies."[/size]
