Representative Taha Al-Majmai confirmed, on Thursday, that the 2023 budget will arrive at the beginning of next March, and it is likely that it will be resolved within seven weeks.
Al-Majmai said in a press interview seen by “Takadum” that “the 2023 budget will be presented in the next session of the Council of Ministers in order to vote on it, and after that it will be sent to the House of Representatives,” expecting that “the beginning of next March, the budget will be with the Finance Committee in order to conduct the necessary discussions.”
He added, "Resolving the items of the budget will need 6-7 weeks and maybe more," pointing out that "the price of a barrel of oil has not been decided yet, and we hope that it does not include complex items that lead to a delay in its approval."
He pointed out that "the 2023 budget will be the largest in terms of the amount of money," noting that "the government is striving to address all the important points in the budget."
It is noteworthy that the 2023 budget was delayed in being sent to the House of Representatives by the Council of Ministers, after the recent changes regarding the reduction of the dollar exchange rate.
