Army sources told Reuters that a huge explosion rocked a military base used by the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces south of Baghdad late on Friday evening.[/size]
[size=45]A Sky News Arabia correspondent said that several explosions occurred inside the Kalsu base in the Musayyib area, north of the Iraqi Babil Governorate.[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that a bombing targeted the headquarters of the Shield Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces inside the Kalsu base.
Agence France-Presse also quoted security sources as saying that the explosion left one dead and a number wounded.[/size]
[size=45]An official in the Ministry of Interior revealed that “the explosion affected equipment and weapons, including heavy weapons and armor,” while he did not specify who was behind the bombing.[/size]
[size=45]An American defense official told Sky News Arabia: “We did not launch any bombing inside Iraq and we have nothing to do with the Al-Hashd base explosions.[/size]
