Shafaq News/ The Finance Committee in the Iraqi Parliament revealed, on Sunday, an unequal distribution of financial allocations among federal ministries, explaining that some ministries received the full allocations, while other ministries received only part of the allocations.
Committee member Mustafa Al-Karawi told Shafaq News Agency that the Ministry of Finance has begun implementing the budget and distributing allocations among ministries after approving the budget schedules in the House of Representatives, noting that many ministries and government institutions suffer from a shortage in financial allocations.
Al-Karawi added that the Parliamentary Finance Committee will host the Minister of Finance and the relevant government agencies to discuss the reasons for the lack of financial allocations and the failure to distribute allocations in a realistic manner that is consistent with the needs of state institutions.
He pointed out that the Finance Committee will work on issuing reports to follow up on the implementation of the budget schedules and address the problems suffered by some ministries and institutions, including delays in disbursing dues and financial allocations necessary to implement state projects.

The 2024 budget, which was voted on by the Iraqi parliament last May, amounts to 211 trillion dinars.
According to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, the 2024 budget revenues are estimated at “144 trillion and 336 billion dinars, while expenditures amount to 210 trillion and 936 billion dinars, while the deficit is 63 trillion and 599 billion dinars.”
