Prime Minister directs to increase work pace in "deprived areas"

Yesterday, Sunday, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani issued a number of directives related to raising the level of crude oil production to increase the production of associated gas. He also directed the service and engineering effort team to increase the pace of work in deprived areas.
A statement from his media office stated that al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting yesterday, Sunday, dedicated to following up on oil sector projects, in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, and a number of advisors and officials in the ministry and its affiliated companies.
The Prime Minister listened to a briefing on the projects that were recently inaugurated, which represent a qualitative leap in raising the capabilities of the oil industry in Iraq. The rates of completion in export, distribution and transportation projects were also discussed, as well as the progress of work in these vital sectors, in addition to following up on the completion of refining projects and integrated energy projects.
The Prime Minister directed the expansion of crude oil production operations to increase the production of associated gas, through national efforts or completing the production rates contracted with licensing round companies. He also directed to increase the production capacity of the northern refineries to cover the needs of electricity and the requirements of the northern refineries.
The meeting witnessed a discussion of the current gas investment projects, especially with the associated gas investment rate reaching 69% of the gas produced in all Iraqi fields, which represents a strategic achievement in a short period of time, as it achieved an increase of 13 percent.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the periodic meeting of the Service and Engineering Effort Team yesterday, Sunday, where the projects under implementation, which the team has started for the year 2024, were reviewed.
A statement from the media office stated that the Prime Minister listened to a comprehensive presentation of the full status of the achievement rates for all projects implemented in all governorates, with regard to paving and furnishing streets and roads, and rehabilitating and maintaining schools and health centers in areas and neighborhoods that need municipal services, which helps in developing the service reality in them.
Al-Sudani stressed the need for the service and engineering effort team to continue with the same enthusiasm and increase the pace of work in deprived areas that need urgent services, pointing out the basic tasks of the effort, which are represented in providing the basic and urgent services that the citizen needs and cannot be postponed, in addition to completing the stalled municipal service projects that have been stopped for years. He also directed to expedite the purchase of the equipment for the effort team.
