Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]Economic researcher Diaa Al-Mohsen described the high unemployment rates as a time bomb, while pointing out that the national economy lost the expertise of young people once and lost important projects another time.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al Mohsen said, "Most young people prefer to work in government institutions, even though the government job salary is weak compared to the private sector salary. The reason for this is the weak marketing of private sector jobs, especially with regard to the guarantees that workers in this sector receive compared to their counterparts in the government sector."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "There are those who wish to establish their own business, but they encounter routine procedures regarding granting them the necessary funding to complete their project, and we find that many of them have interests that result in providing a large part of the local market's needs for the commodity that they want to move to and pump into the market, and thus the owner of this idea withdraws and is forced to look for a government job that may not meet his ambitions." Pointing out, "The national economy has lost twice; the first is the loss of the expertise of such young people who have become a burden on the general budget, and the second is the loss of the economy of projects that could have been an important tributary to cover the largest part of the market's needs, as well as an additional tributary to finance the general budget . "[/rtl]
[rtl]He continued, " It is necessary for the government, which is talking about its financial reserves increasing to more than 115 billion dollars, to study the projects proposed by graduates and non-graduates and look for ways to finance these projects that are easy for them, because they will be a gateway to absorbing a significant number of unemployed people, and it also works to meet the market's need for its needs that consume a lot of money due to imports, and this money can be invested by the executive authority in infrastructure and long-term investments ."[/rtl]
[rtl]The economic researcher continued his talk by saying, “Serious thinking about finding job opportunities for the millions of unemployed lies in a specific question: Is the government serious about ending the unemployed file? Or do they constitute a necessary electoral card for some political blocs that control some facilities, especially those that control the social protection program? If it is serious about ending this file and wants to find job opportunities for them on the one hand, but it is also thinking about having job opportunities outside of government jobs, then it must help graduates who have such ideas that help the government eliminate unemployment . ”[/rtl]
[rtl]He concluded by saying: “The number of unemployed people represents a time bomb that may result in many social problems if the government does not deal with this issue well. This dealing should not be at the expense of increasing the budget deficit, which has become bloated with millions of disguised unemployed people that abound in government institutions. Rather, the government should seriously consider thinking outside the box to solve this problem, which is accompanied by other problems, such as the housing problem, which has become chronic, even with the presence of this huge number of residential complexes, whether in Baghdad or in the governorates.”[/rtl]
[rtl]Statistics related to the latest developments in the economic situation indicated that Iraq ranks first in the Arab world and third in the world in the unemployment rate, with no less than eight million citizens below the poverty line. The Iraqi Ministry of Planning did not hide the fact that the percentages mentioned in international and global surveys related to revealing the unemployment and poverty rates in the world did not speak about the real numbers that Iraq records daily in this file .[/rtl]
