    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, "the responsibility of the citizen and state agencies to maintain the sustainability of health infrastructure."
A statement from the Prime Minister's Office, received by "Baghdad Today", stated that Al-Sudani "opened, today, Sunday, the second phase of the rehabilitation of the Central Children's Teaching Hospital in the capital, Baghdad, and toured the departments and halls that underwent rehabilitation, and reviewed the most prominent services provided therein, and the updated medical devices and supplies, in order to ensure the improvement of the reality of the service provided to citizens, reiterating that the government places the issue of health services at the forefront of goals and among the priorities of services."
Al-Sudani explained, in his conversation with the medical and health teams working in the hospital, that “the completion of the second phase of rehabilitation stems from the keenness to fulfill the promises to complete the health infrastructure, rehabilitate it and raise the level of service provided,” stressing that “maintaining the sustainability of service and health facilities is a shared responsibility between the citizen and the service agencies alike,” according to the statement.
It is noteworthy that the second phase of the rehabilitation of the Central Children’s Hospital included the rehabilitation of the departments of surgery, blood diseases, (4) operating rooms, radiology, CT, MRI units, drug store, internal pharmacy, blood bank, administrative wing and main entrance.
This phase also included the rehabilitation of more than 90 rooms in the hospital, the rehabilitation of sewage, water and electricity systems, providing the hospital with modern and advanced systems for monitoring and extinguishing fires, equipping the halls with modern beds and completing the furniture and supporting medical devices, awaiting the launch of the third phase, so that the rehabilitation covers the entire hospital.
