The spokesman for the Central Committee for the Kurdistan Parliament Elections, Ayser Yassin, confirmed today, Monday (October 7, 2024), the recording of three violations in the election campaign in the city of Erbil.
Yassin said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "We have issued strict instructions to all parties, to respect the laws and instructions of electoral propaganda," stressing that "3 violations have been detected, and if they are not removed within 3 days, a report will be submitted to the Baghdad office."
He added, "The end date of the election campaign is the 15th of this month, which is a fixed date and there is no extension."
A source in the Independent High Electoral Commission revealed, on Saturday (September 28, 2024), that 12 violations of election campaigns were recorded in Kurdistan in just three days .
The source said in an interview with Baghdad Today, "The election campaign monitoring committees recorded 12 violations, five in Erbil, five in Sulaymaniyah, and two in Dohuk, and no violations were recorded in Halabja."
He added that "after completing the investigation and review, the Commission will officially announce the type and method of punishing the violators," noting that "if the violation is serious, the Board of Commissioners can dismiss the candidate."
