    Baghdad Today - Baghdad
Political researcher Ahmed Al-Yasiri said today, Sunday (October 6, 2024), that "the region is facing a major strategic change on various levels during the next stage."
Al-Yasiri told Baghdad Today, "The war in Gaza, followed by Lebanon, the liquidation of Hezbollah leaders, and its significant weakening, as well as the weakening of Iran's role in the region and the reduction of its influence, will create a new map in the region on the political, economic and security levels, and Iraq will be part of these changes, which will be in its interest due to the decline of Iranian influence over it and the region in general."
He added, "After the war in Gaza and Lebanon stops, Israel will seek, after these military successes in the region, to complete the normalization project, and Iraq will not be far from this project that is rejected by the government, politics and society, but the changes in the region may push for changing many of the previous issues."
    Greater Israel Project
For his part, researcher and political analyst from Lebanon, Basem Assaf, warned of the danger of Israel’s efforts to control the Middle East during the wars of extermination it is currently waging in Lebanon and Gaza.
Assaf told Baghdad Today that “the leadership of the Zionist entity knows very well that it is not superior in the field and direct confrontation, as it is superior in the air and the use of aircraft and drones, especially with regard to electronic and cyber affairs and recently with artificial intelligence. The war on the ground between an army with its armored vehicles, tanks, cannons and military style is the opposite of guerrilla warfare and resistance groups that confront it with hit and run, and defending the land in which he lived and grew up in its neighborhoods, valleys, plateaus and mountains, and he feels that he is defending his right to his land and towns, so he fights to the death to defend it.”
He added, "As for its danger and its extension to the entire region, (Netanyahu) and the mini-government (the cabinet) who represent the extreme right have become blinded and insightful, after they felt euphoric through the assassination of Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah and some leaders of the party's military wing, and that this morale with air superiority gives them the opportunity to have ground superiority, but popular resentment and resistance to the occupier will escalate and will constitute a pressure force on the entity's army in the field."
He continued, "The Arab rulers and armies in the region must be careful, as things may get out of hand, and all the rules of the game and the threads of engagement that the pillars of the Zionist entity depend on may be destroyed, and the greatest catastrophe will be in the implementation of the roadmap in which the countries supporting Israel, whether Western or Arab, are involved. At that time, the repercussions will be greater than what global Zionism plans, to open doors that were not expected, or expand in a way that does not have good consequences, and it is difficult for the allied forces to address them, to rebound negatively on the usurping entity, and the opposition will insist on overthrowing the right-wing government, and clashes and disputes will take place within the entity, so that the Zionist arenas will witness the worst defeats due to the arrogance and intransigence of Netanyahu and his crazy team's positions," he said.
The researcher and political analyst concluded by saying, “The free world today has exposed the lies and deception of the Zionist conspiracy and its aim to control the Middle East and expand the occupation of Israel to include its lands from the Euphrates to the Nile, and that it is working to achieve this expansion through war and occupation with some countries, and also through agreements and normalization with other countries in the region, and this is what we are witnessing on the Arab scene currently, and it began in Palestine and the extermination and displacement of its people, and also with Lebanon using scorched earth and displacing its population, to reach other countries from the Euphrates to the Nile, and this matter and this war have opened their doors wide, and they will never close, at least in the near future.”
