    Economy News - Follow-up
The head of the Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry, Fathi Al-Jaghbir, confirmed on Sunday that industrial exports are achieving a remarkable expansion in their presence on the global map, as they have crossed over to more than 144 markets around the world.
Al-Jaghbeer stated in press statements followed by "Al-Eqtisad News" that "industrial exports, despite the decline in their overall growth during the first seven months of this year by 3% compared to the same period last year," indicating that "the indicators showed a qualitative improvement in market presence, as their share in traditional markets increased through the noticeable growth in their exports to Arab countries by about 12% to reach 1,944 million dinars (Jordanian dinar = 1.41 US dollars) as a result of the noticeable growth of each of Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Egypt by 50%, 14% and 43% respectively, in addition to the growth of North American countries by more than 14% to reach 1,342 million dinars, especially for the United States market and the growth of exports to it by more than 16%."
Al-Jaghbeer stressed that “the remarkable expansion was also recorded in non-traditional markets, as exports increased significantly to a number of European markets, most notably Ukraine, with an increase of 17 million dinars, Belgium, 16 million dinars, Norway, 9 million dinars, Italy, 6 million, and Finland, with an increase of 6 million dinars.”

Jordan’s exports to South Korea and Japan also grew by 138% and 66% respectively, and entered completely new markets such as Burma, Latvia, and Luxembourg, according to Al-Jaghbeer, who stressed that “this remarkable expansion came in light of regional challenges and political tensions that may hinder export operations, reflecting the strength and flexibility of the Jordanian industrial sector and its ability to adapt and grow in complex and difficult environments.”
Al-Jaghbeer pointed out that "many industrial sectors have grown, most notably the leather and textile industries sector, which recorded an increase of more than 175 million dinars, with a growth rate of 21.5%, followed by the food and supply industries sector, which also achieved growth of more than 106 million, with a growth rate of 30.1%. The medical industries and medical supplies sector also continued to achieve high growth rates, as its exports increased by 5.18%, while the exports of the plastic and rubber industries sector increased by more than 96 million dinars, with a growth rate of 19.6%."
