    [rtl] The Ministry of Water Resources, Sunday, converted for additional releases from the Tigris column to the marshes to raise the water level in it.[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Minister of Water Resources Engineer Mohsen al-Shammari during a meeting with Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and the Environment Jassim Falahi, that "the ministry is making great efforts to revive the marshes, especially that it has suffered a lot during the last year."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Shammari said that "the Ministry of Health and the environment is a key partner in the work to develop the central and southern marshes on the World Heritage List," pointing out that "the marshes along the civilization of Mesopotamia and that the ministry is working in coordination with a number of ministries to maintain the universal value of these water bodies."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]He noted that the "necessity of continuing coordination between the two ministries and working on the possibility of establishing a joint committee between the Ministry of Water Resources and the Ministry of Health and the Environment competent environmental realities of the marshes."[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]As the marshes are of great importance from the traditional agricultural side of the inhabitants of the region it is also used for fishing, bird hunting and herding cattle. [/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The marsh area incubation and hatching of some creatures and birds, which are considered to be of commercial and environmental importance. [/rtl]
