Whatever it is , the need for this crop growing annually consumes Iraqi family larger amounts than provided by the ration her card.
So it became necessary to those who provide this crop to continue planting and increase the quantities on the level of Iraq to be distributed among the population within the ration card items or sell them at subsidized prices in the markets local so you do not have toIraqi consumers foot to buy rice foreign domestic market and hence the benefit of increasing the productivity of the crop ( the farmer and the state and the citizen) both provided it sells state with worldwide less favorable rate on the prices of the imported it, where according to official data that Iraq consumes more 1.2 million tons of the crop annually.
It is possible that the state contribute to encourage farmers to go back to farming their fields by providing rice growing kits with doing irrigation work projects of tables and small rivers and provide electricity to run water pumps for watering the targeted territory, especially in the main centers to be planted in Najaf, Diwaniyah and Wasit.
