    At the invitation of the General Secretariat of NATO, met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Assistant Secretary General of NATO, Mr. Alexander Vershbow on the evening of 09/07/2013 at NATO headquarters in Brussels During the meeting, they discussed relations developed between Iraq and NATO in the light of the partnership agreement signed between the two countries,

    and the possibility of the largest developed through the opening of Iraq's Military Attaché in Belgium to follow up the relationship with NATO in areas determined by the partnership agreement.

    On the other hand met the Minister Council alliance composed of 28 countries, and during the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation, particularly in the area of ​​capacity building, energy security and the fight against terrorism as well as other issues related to developments and political changes taking place in the Middle East and Iraq's position on these developments.

    It should be noted that the North Atlantic Council is the body of the main political decision-making within the alliance and provides a forum for consultation and widespread among the members on all issues affecting peace and security were discussed programs and plans for future cooperation between Iraq and NATO.
