Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The former Speaker, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, called to set a map to start a national project to eliminate sectarianism.”
A statement received by IraqiNews.com quoted him as saying while receiving a tribal delegation at his office in Baghdad on Thursday “All the religious authorities should adopt the national project that confronts disputes that threaten the unity of Iraq.”
“Sectarianism is a threat for all Iraqis so the religious authorities and the political sides must participate in the national project that eliminates sectarianism in Iraq forever,” he added.
“All the thinkers, prominent literary figures and tribal chieftains should support and participate in this project,” he concluded.
