    النفط Oil: We welcome Qatar's investments in the gas, extraction and infrastructure sectors 
    Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Al-Luaibi expressed Qatar Petroleum's desire to invest and execute development projects in the gas, extracting, refining, infrastructure and petrochemical sectors. Petroleum Saad Sharida Al-Kaabi, on the sidelines of the meetings of OPEC and OPEC, held recently in Vienna and Kuwait, respectively. 
    Oil Minister Jabbar Ali Al-Luaibi said in a statement received that the CEO of Qatar Petroleum Company Saad Al-Kaabi expressed his company's desire to invest and implement development projects in the Iraqi oil sector in cooperation, partnership and alliance with international specialized companies. The minister said that he promised them to provide all the possibilities and requirements for the success of their work in Iraq.
    Al-Luaibi added that he welcomes Qatar Petroleum Company in Iraq and all Arab and foreign companies wishing to invest and implement development projects in the Iraqi oil sector, which has become a promising investment environment attracting investments and international companies. And interests, pointing out that, Iraq and after the announcement of the day of victory, is working to attract international investments to develop the oil and gas industry and the liquidation sector and infrastructure in order to achieve the highest economic return to Iraq. 
    The Ministry of Oil has recently invited international companies to participate in the investment and develop (9) patches and border fields with Iran and Kuwait. As well as the presence of other tenders in the sectors of gas investment and extraction and liquidation, drilling, pipes and infrastructure and others.
     
     The rise of the world's reserves of gold and Iraq maintains the rank of 37 world 
    The World Gold Council announced on Wednesday the rise in the world's gold reserves during the month of December, pointing out that Iraq has maintained the world's 37th position of global reserves. 
    "The world's gold reserves rose for the month of December by 133 tons from last November to 33,604 tons, while the United States ranked first in the world, In terms of these reserves, which amounted to 8.133.5, followed by Germany with 3.373 tons.
    The Council added that "Iraq has maintained the rank of 37 in the world in terms of these reserves out of the 100 countries listed in international financial statistics of the global reserves of gold, while Iraq also maintained the fifth place in the Arab, came after Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Algeria and Libya. 
    The Council noted that "Iraq's gold reserves remained constant, with 89.8 tons, representing 7.9% of the rest of the other currencies," noting that "the last purchase of Iraq from gold was in April 2014, where he bought 15.16 tons." 
    On January 23, 2014, the Central Bank decided to set up a series of pure gold bars ranging from 50 grams to 1000 grams to be sold to gold dealers, investors and segments of the society interested in the dinar.

    Petrofac wins $ 160 million contract with South Oil 
    Company Petrofac, a British oil and gas project services company, has signed a $ 160 million contract with South Oil Company to implement a two-year expansion and maintenance project for the South Oil Company. 
    The facility responsible for implementing the bulk of Iraq's oil exports 60 km from the coast of the island of Faw in southern Iraq, and contains a central and multiple platforms and four single anchors facilitate the process of export of crude oil and loading in the tankers waiting at the marina. 
    The two-year contract provides maintenance services for nearly 300 km of under-water pipelines, maintenance of 1,800 meters of underwater hose pumps and a 14-boat fleet.
    "We are pleased to continue our work in providing support to this important crude oil export facility and since our inception in Iraq in 2012 we have helped to export more than 2.2 billion barrels of oil and continue our work," said Mani Rajapathi, Director of Engineering and Productivity Services, Middle East.
