The Basra provincial council on Saturday accused the House of Representatives of manipulating the petrodollar allocations in the budget agreed between the oil producing provinces and the prime minister, pointing to the weak voice of the province in the council.
Council member Ahmad Abdul Hussein told "Information" that "the deputies of oil-producing provinces agreed during their meeting with the Prime Minister to allocate two dollars instead of five dollars for each barrel of oil produced from the province and included in the budget of 2018."
He added that "the amount of money allocated to Basra for its exports of oil and the amount of two dollars for each barrel of three trillions and 500 billion dinars," noting that "the House of Representatives renounce the agreement and manipulated before the vote on the budget."
He explained that "was allocated 380 billion dinars to the province of Basra equivalent to 10% of the two dollars for each barrel, which was agreed upon," noting that "the main reason behind the manipulation of allocations Basra weak voice of the province in Baghdad and no one to defend their rights."
"The impatience of the people after the arrival of the bad situation in Basra to the highest levels, including the lack of funds enough to lift waste from the streets at the time of Basra to Baghdad, trillion dinars annually of customs and taxes."
The parliamentary legal committee announced, last month, the agreement of Prime Minister Haider Abadi with the deputies of the oil-producing provinces during a meeting with them to give them petrodollar allocations in the budget of 2018 surplus oil price rises.
