Twilight News / Kurdish politician Sardar Abdullah, announced on Monday, his candidacy for the presidency of the Republic in Iraq.
Abdullah is a former member of the Iraqi parliament for the Change Movement, but resigned later and presents himself as an independent politician.
"I have announced my candidacy for the presidency of the Republic of Iraq, putting myself in the service of a people worthy of life," Abdullah said in a statement.
Professor Kamal Aziz Qaituli, a Kurd, was also nominated for the post of president of the republic.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives, announced on Monday, the opening of the nomination for the post of President of the Republic.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan says it is the closest to the Iraqi presidency, something that has already happened during the last three presidential sessions.
Under the terms of Article (1) of the law, the following shall be required:
First: an Iraqi by birth and two Iraqi parents.
Second: full eligibility and completed the forty years of age.
Third: He has a good reputation and political experience and is known for integrity, integrity, justice and loyalty to the homeland.
Fourthly, his academic achievement should not be less than the initial university certificate recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq.
Fifth: Not convicted of a crime that violates honor.
Sixth: not to be covered by the provisions of the accountability and justice procedures or any procedures replace them)
and the Presidency of the Council of Representatives stresses that the election of the President of the Republic will be through no later than the end of the day 10.02.2018 pursuant to Article (72 / II / b) of the Constitution.
