Source: Abdul Mahdi faces a problem in the disposal of employees of the Secretariat of the Council of Ministers

The Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, plans to turn the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers into a bureau or a small office to reduce the slackness of the number of employees in that institution, an informed source said on Monday.
Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper quoted the source as saying that Abdul-Mahdi "is determined to restructure the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and turn it into a small office or office supervised by an employee at the rank of Director General and not as a minister, as has been the case over the past years. Prime minister. " But that, according to the source, "is linked to the change of the rules of procedure of the Council of Ministers, which gives the rank of minister for both the Director of the Office of the Prime Minister and the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers."
The source, who prefers not to mention his name, says that "Abdul Mahdi faces a big problem in getting rid of the huge numbers of employees in the secretariat of the Council of Ministers. The problem is that many of them are affiliated with other ministries because the salaries they receive in the cabinet are about three times that of their counterparts in some ministries "He said.
The source expected that "Abdul Mahdi will rely on the new director of his office during the next transitional period, in view of the experience gained by Nawfal Abu Shun during his four years in the office of Abadi, and then can abandon his services later.
The source pointed out that the same problem of slackness faced by Adel Abdul-Mahdi as prime minister, suffered by President Barham Salih, where "the latter found more than 3 thousand employees, except employees belonging to the security forces charged with protecting the presidential building."
The source emphasizes that "Barham Salih is determined to get rid of the employees affiliated with the presidency or to return them to their official circles and cancel their placement."
