Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, said his country welcomes the arrival of Lebanese companies to invest in Iraq, pointing to the existence of investment opportunities "large".
"We are happy with the friendly relations and strong ties between our two countries and our peoples," Abdul Mahdi said during a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Baghdad on Sunday.
"We have confidence in Lebanese companies and we welcome Lebanese businessmen and investors to take advantage of the great opportunities to work in Iraq."
Berri arrived in Baghdad on Monday for the second visit by a senior Lebanese official, preceded by a visit by Lebanese Foreign Minister and expatriate Gebran Bassil late last year.
"Iraq is restoring its great role in its Arab and regional environment as a center of gravity and establishing relations of cooperation and friendship with all neighboring countries on the basis of participation, overcoming differences and exchanging benefits," Abdul-Mahdi said in a statement issued by his office after his meeting with Berri.
