{International: Euphrates News} The Chief of Staff of the Army met with the First Lieutenant General Osman al-Ghanmi, his Iranian counterpart Major General Mohammad Baqari in Tehran and discussed the latest developments in the security situation in Iraq.
Lieutenant General Othman al-Ghanmi, who is currently visiting Iran as part of an Iraqi government delegation, met this morning with the head of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Mohammad Baqeri.
"We were informed of the presence of the Iraqi delegation in Iran when we were in the province of Khuzestan (southwestern Iran) to inspect the areas affected by the floods and that is why we have returned to Tehran for your meeting," Major General Bagheri said.
"He is waiting for the official visit of the Iraqi military delegation after the coming month of Ramadan," Bagheri said, referring to "previous meetings in Syria and hopes that such meetings and meetings will continue."
For his part, Lieutenant General Ghanemi expressed his thanks to his Iranian counterpart in the hope that the circle of Iranian-Iraqi cooperation will be continuously expanded. "
He praised the meeting between the Iraqi prime minister and the Iranian president last night, recalling Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi's assertion that "Iraq will not allow the use of its territory to strike Iran."
