A parliamentary delegation visits the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Jordanian Customs

The parliamentary delegation, hosted by Jordan's Public Services and Transport Committee, visited Jordan Chamber of Commerce and Jordanian Customs today to discuss means of boosting economic relations between the two countries and tackling the obstacles facing them.
Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Dr. Tareq Al-Hammouri, who attended part of the meeting, stressed the presence of a very high level of insistence on the official level in both countries, whether from governments or the House of Representatives, to activate their economic relations as soon as possible.
He pointed out that there are great efforts and efforts exerted by various government institutions and the private sector in Jordan and Iraq to overcome the obstacles that hinder the two countries' trade exchanges, stressing that the results on the ground are not commensurate with the volume of work done in the recent period and culminated in the signing of many economic agreements.
He stressed the need to find a mechanism to examine the problems facing the trade of the two countries so that there will be a periodic meeting between the two sides to discuss the problems and develop solutions to them and follow-up implementation in a manner that meets the hopes and aspirations and intentions and the will of Jordan and Iraq to achieve them.
In his turn, the Chairman of the Committee on Services and Reconstruction in the House of Representatives Kazem Al-Hamami said that the parliamentary delegation's visit to the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and its meeting with the commercial activities aims to talk frankly and listen to the challenges facing the trade of the two countries, praising the historical ties and ties that unite them.
He said that the Iraqi delegation came to Jordan to help and contribute to tackling the problems and challenges that hinder his country's economic relations with the Kingdom and facilitate trade between the two sides, stressing that Iraq benefited from Jordan in many fields by reading the legislation and laws.
He said that after Eid al-Adha, a parliamentary delegation will be organized to Trebil to discuss issues and obstacles with these concerned parties to reach solutions to all obstacles hindering the trade of both countries.
Al-Hamami pointed out that the joint coordination office will also be established to resolve outstanding problems, outstanding procedures and stalled projects.
For her part, the ambassador of Iraq to the Kingdom Safia al-Suhail stressed the importance of discussing the activation of memorandums of understanding and agreements that link the fortune-teller and Jordan to speed up the mechanisms of achieving economic integration between the two countries.
Stressing the existence of directions from the Iraqi state to build strategic relations with Jordan at various levels and enable the private sector Jordan to participate in the process of construction and reconstruction and vision of joint projects.
During the meeting, members of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation and representatives of the Jordanian commercial sectors presented a number of issues that the two countries should cooperate with in addition to the issues of trade and industry, especially the construction of public housing, construction, construction, communications and information technology.
For his part, the head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Nael Kabariti, said that Jordan has strong relations with Iraq at all levels of official, popular and economic in particular, praising all the efforts made to build new bridges of cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Kabariti presented a proposal for the establishment of an economic coordination office within the headquarters of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce to receive complaints and inquiries and follow up with the responsible authorities in the two countries, stressing the need to be Jordan and Iraq partners in development and not as competitors.
He pointed out the importance of building a logistic city on the border of the two countries to serve their common interests, as well as expanding cooperation with other neighboring countries, stressing that the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce is also headed to set up a coordination office in its headquarters to address any obstacles facing the transport and logistics sector.
Meanwhile, the head of the Public Services and Transport Committee MP Khaled Abu Hassan said that the visit of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation to Jordan constitutes a real opportunity to discuss the problems to prevent the activation of relations and economic agreements concluded between the two countries.
He expressed his appreciation for the visit of the Iraqi parliamentary delegation to discuss the issues and concerns of the two brotherly peoples. He pointed out that the Public Services and Transport Committee and its supervisory role started to discuss the Jordanian-Jordanian economic relations file after receiving complaints, observations and challenges.
Abu Hassan said King Abdullah's visit to Iraq as the first Arab leader opened new horizons for cooperation between the two countries, adding that the Jordanian monarch always recommended facilitating the measures with the Iraqi side to reach the common economic integration.
He added that the political will is available to reach the economic integration between Jordan and Iraq to benefit the two peoples, pointing out the difficulties and challenges that emerged after the signing of agreements between the two countries, which were discussed and discussed in detail with the parliamentary delegation, especially regarding bureaucratic procedures on the border.
MP Abu Hassan said that it is our duty as deputies to discuss the challenges in all its details and dismantle them and remove the various obstacles that exist for the benefit of the parties and benefit from the agreements, which reflects on the real economic development of both countries by opening the border crossings.
