Minister of Health and Environment, Hassan Al-Tamimi, issued a decision on Sunday regarding visitors to the memorial of the martyrdom of Imam Musa bin Jaafar Al-Kazemi "peace be upon him".
The Ministry of Health stated, in a statement that Mawazine News received a copy of, that "the Minister of Health and Environment, Hassan Al-Tamimi, chaired the meeting in the presence of members of the committee and medical officials in the Ministries of Defense and Interior and the Medical Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Authority at the Ministry's headquarters."
The statement added, "The meeting discussed the measures taken in Iraq to prevent the spread of the new strain, and the minister presented the latest developments in the epidemiological situation and the severity of the infections."
He pointed out, "The minister stressed that 20% of the injuries were severe and stressed the necessity of everyone's commitment to wearing masks and physical distancing."
Al-Tamimi emphasized the "role of the Defense, Interior, and Popular Mobilization Medical Directorates", instructing to "prevent any visitor from passing Imam Al-Kadhim unless he wears the muzzle while immediate aid efforts are mobilized to provide the required support."
Earlier today, Sunday, the Minister of Health and Environment, Hassan Al-Tamimi, expected an increase in infections with the emerging and mutated Corona virus, in the coming days.
Al-Tamimi said, during a press conference, "We noticed that the visitors did not comply with health instructions," adding: "We discussed the ongoing preparations in light of the increase in the number of injuries."
He added, "We are monitoring the epidemiological situation and expect an increase in infections in the coming days," calling for "assigning the security services to implement the decisions of the Supreme Committee." Ended 6/29 N
