    Baghdad / National News Center

Today, Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance denied a statement attributed to the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Taif Sami, that insulted the former Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, and the Speaker of Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi.
The ministry stated, in a statement received by the National News Center, that “the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Taif Sami, denies the talk circulating about it regarding the former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbusi.
The statement added, "Some websites and TV channels have published footage from a previous meeting with the Director General of the budget, Taif Sami, with a report containing fabricated statements and phrases aimed at stirring up public opinion."
According to the statement, Sami said, "The filmed video was published without her knowledge, and it was filmed for a year in particular, on the Women's Day, which the meeting was limited to and highlighted the challenges that women face at all levels."
She indicated, "The conversation was fabricated and did not address in any way the personality of former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi," denying "the talk circulating about her mentioning the biography of Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi."
She affirmed that she "has respect for all political figures", calling on the media to "adhere to professional standards and accuracy in transmitting information without falsification, as it will sue the media that had prematurely spoke."
