    {Umniah: Al Furat News} Interior Minister Othman Al-Ghanimi revealed a development in the completion of the file of those involved in the "death squads" in Basra Governorate.

    Al-Ghanimi said in a press statement that "all those involved in this file were reached, with the pursuit and investigation continuing to reach suspects who carried out the assassination of two brothers in the province and then fled outside the country's borders."
    And he indicated, "With regard to those involved in the death file, it has reached the stage of judicial approval, but there are elements who will be brought for the purpose of trial, which is a procedure by the judicial authorities, due to the presence of confessions on other personalities, which may delay the file until some other parties are summoned."
    Al-Ghanimi pointed out that "everyone who was announced by the Ministry of Interior regarding the death file has ended its security and investigative belongings by the Ministry of Interior and there is no way to retract it, and it has been referred to the judiciary to complete the relevant judicial procedures."
    On the issue of the killing of the two brothers, the Minister of Interior said: "The perpetrators carried out the assassination and fled outside the borders, but they are diagnosed and are being followed up."
    It is noteworthy that the tribes of Bani Tamim in Basra governorate organized a protest sit-in on June 8 in Abu Al-Khasib district, through which the security authorities demanded the arrest of the murderers of three of their sons (including two brothers) in two separate incidents.
    The Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, announced at the dawn of last February 15, the arrest of the "death gang", "which terrified the people of Basra, spread death in its streets and took lives, fell in the grip of the heroes of our security forces, in preparation for a fair and public trial."
    The Prime Minister indicated that the "death squads" were involved in the killing of two activists in Basra, including Janan Madhi and Ahmed Abdul Samad.
    The Tactical Experts Cell, an independent Iraqi security and military observatory established in 2014, provides neutral security studies, analyzes and reports with specialized cadres. With bombs on homes, including the governor, and attempts to assassinate intelligence officers.
    The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, described the death squad as one of the largest gangs, and investigations are continuing to find the rest of its members and the president.
    On February 17, the Basra Investigation Court ratified the statements of a number of gang members accused of the assassination crimes in Basra, and revealed the evidence for the defendants who confessed to the crimes they committed against a number of activists, media professionals, and security and social figures in the province.
    The Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated that "the court issued an arrest warrant in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law against the defendants who confessed after their arrest for destabilizing security and stability in the province through the assassinations of activists, media, and security and social figures in Basra," noting that "the court Arrest warrants have been issued against the fugitives, and investigations are still ongoing.
