Converting the presidential palace into an international museum.. Parliamentary: Babylon is on the cusp of a massive urban development thanks to China
Shafaq News/ A deputy from Babil Governorate revealed today, Wednesday, the existence of a memorandum of understanding with China, according to which the province could witness "a tremendous urban development, while indicating that there is an intention to transform the presidential palace into an international museum and establish the city of "New Hilla".
The representative of the province, a member of the Parliamentary Investment Committee, Hussein Al-Sabri, told Shafaq News Agency, "The visit of the Chinese ambassador to Babylon was to see the archaeological city, encourage tourism and work on investing the presidential palace and turning it into an international museum that receives visitors from all over the world."
Al-Sabri added that "there is a memorandum of understanding between the Babylon Investment Authority and the Chinese side, to implement several investment projects in the province, the most important of which is the implementation of the new city of Hilla, which will have an area of (20) million square meters and is sufficient for 63 thousand housing units and includes many service units from a hospital, a stadium and centers Police, health, pivotal roads, and bridges.
The Chinese ambassador to Iraq, Cui Wei, visited Babylon and discussed with its officials investment opportunities and how his country can contribute to this.
On June 18, 2022, Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi laid the cornerstone of a school project within the Iraqi-Chinese agreement, which included the construction of 1,000 model schools throughout Iraq, while the Iraqi Minister of Health, Hani Musa Al-Aqabi, discussed on June 21, 2022. Establishment of four medical cities and 15 hospitals in various cities of the country within the projects of the Chinese agreement.
