    The Ministry of Health said that the fifth wave of corona began to recede by decreasing the duration of symptoms from 11 days to five days, and indicated that the mutation of the new virus was weak and similar to the symptoms of Omicron during the fourth wave .
    The Director of the Communicable Diseases Control Department in the Karkh Health Department, Dr. Hanadi Muhammad Abdul-Sahib, explained to the Official Gazette that "each new wave of the virus begins in countries and then moves to Iraq after one to two months, and this is expected ."
    She added that the percentage of cases that require remission is very few, which is similar to the previous numbers in the Omicron wave, with a relative increase in the number of injuries, offset by an increase in recovery rates .
    Abdel-Saheb pointed out that the influenza virus, in its usual types, has deaths annually, but in small numbers, and every influenza that appears in the analyzes currently is corona, pointing at the same time that the period of symptoms has decreased from 11 days to 5 days, which is the beginning of the disease's decline .
    She added that the virus exists and has not ended, as all viruses mutate in order to survive, with evidence that the regular influenza vaccine is renewed annually due to the change that occurs to it .
    Abdel-Saheb stressed that it is not possible to be certain that the virus will remain as it is now, because the world may be surprised by new mutations that may be dangerous, so it is necessary for all medical and health personnel to be ready to confront it, and she appealed for the support of all medical personnel due to the great efforts they provide to follow up Corona patients, even in cases of home isolation .
