The House of Representatives announced, on Wednesday, that the draft law on addressing slums will be read for a second reading in the upcoming sessions.
And the parliament’s media said in a statement, “The Parliamentary Services Committee discussed, during a meeting, and among the priorities of the government program in the field of legislation, the priorities of the minutes of draft laws that deal with residential abuses (the draft law on addressing residential abuses).”
The committee intends to "prepare a draft of the aforementioned draft law and mature its texts by holding a hearing session that will add all relevant parties to add amendments to it and submit it to the presidency of the council with the aim of including it in the agenda of the upcoming sessions for a second reading."
The Services and Construction Committee discussed “the second amendment bill to the Public Roads Law No. 35 of 2002, which was reviewed by the State Council and the presence of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities and Public Works and referred it to the House of Representatives.”
And she stressed "the need to form sub-committees for Baghdad and the provinces, representing the Services and Construction Committee, in order to enhance the oversight role and direct follow-up to all regions throughout Iraq, as well as coordinating a joint meeting that brings together the Parliamentary Services and Construction Committee and the Prime Minister during the coming days."
