Today, Thursday, the First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, called for a review of the investment licenses for the residential city of Rafael and the Baghdad Golf Resort until the completion of the legal scrutiny.
In an official letter issued by his office, Al-Mandalawi called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani to reconsider the two investment licenses granted by the National Investment Commission for Rafael Residential City and Baghdad Golf Club and Resort, pending the completion of the audit and investigation of the legal violations raised around them. , in order to preserve public money.
Al-Mandalawi considered that the presence of suspicions of corruption and legal irregularities in the referral mechanism, the investment law, and the internal system of the Council of Ministers, in the way of granting the two investment licenses by the National Investment Commission to the two companies (Eagle Hills Iraq and Al-Arifi Group), calls for a review of continuing to implement the two concluded contracts until Confirmation and completion of legal audits.
The National Investment Commission had granted (Eagle Hills Iraq LLC) an area of 1800 dunums, in order to build the Baghdad International Golf Club and Resort. 600 acres of agricultural land near Baghdad International Airport.
