Today, Sunday, the Supreme Judicial Council denied allegations of the existence of (gay marriage) courts in Iraq.
The council said in a statement, "One of the clerics responded by saying that there are courts documenting the contracts of the so-called (gay marriage)."
He added, "The courts in Iraq are established according to the provisions of the Judicial Organization Law No. 160 of 1979," noting that "there are no courts of this kind in Iraq."
The Council called on "everyone to take into account the accuracy and credibility of what is issued by them."
