    [size=45]Today, Thursday, Iraq chaired the meetings of the Economic and Social Council at its regular session in Mauritania.[/size]
    [size=45]And the Ministry of Commerce stated, in a statement, that “Minister of Trade Atheer Dawood Al-Ghariri headed today, Thursday, the delegation of the Republic of Iraq participating in the meetings of the Economic and Social Council in its regular session (111) for the ministerial level in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, at the headquarters of the Arab League, which was held under the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.”[/size]
    [size=45]During the speech of the Republic of Iraq that he delivered at the council meeting, the minister welcomed "the ministers and all the participants in the meeting, and thanked the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and all the staff of the General Secretariat."[/size]
    [size=45]And he made "an invitation to all Arab countries to urge their companies in the public and private sectors to take advantage of the investment opportunities available in Iraq and benefit from the advantages of the Iraqi investment law, because Iraq now, and in light of the current government's directions, enjoys a very safe and encouraging investment environment."[/size]
    [size=45]The statement indicated that “the council meeting at the ministerial level, which concluded its work today, had discussed several issues, the most important of which is the development of trade exchange between Arab countries, and focusing on Arab food security through the abundant resources that characterize the Arab countries, as well as social issues, the most prominent of which was Expressing thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Iraq for its great achievement for the Arab nation for hosting the Gulf Football Tournament (Gulf 25) in Basra.[/size]
    [size=45]He continued, "The council also discussed issues of multidimensional social development, governance and its role in improving the financial performance of institutions, and Arab-international cooperation in the social and development fields."[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that "the ministers of the Arab countries participating in the meeting expressed their sincere condolences and sympathy to the affected peoples and to the families of the victims as a result of the recent devastating earthquake, which struck several regions."[/size]
    [size=45]The delegation of the Republic of Iraq, headed by the Minister of Trade, in the meetings of the Economic and Social Council in its regular session (111) at the ministerial level, consisted of the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo, the Director General of the Department of Foreign Economic Relations and the Director General of the General Company for Grain Trade.[/size]
