Today, Thursday, the Basra Governorate clarified its responsibilities within the strategic development road project, while announcing the start of addressing the conflicts and removing the excesses of the project.
The assistant governor of Basra, Hassan al-Najjar, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the development road is a regional, local and international road, starting from Al-Faw to Fishkhabour, and linked with a group of countries, especially Turkey, Iran, the Arab countries, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the UAE." Oman and Kuwait.
Al-Najjar added, "The road starts from Basra, point zero of Al-Faw, and ends with the borders of Dhi Qar Governorate, and there are three main sections in Basra Governorate, two sections for the Ministry of Transport, specifically the Iraqi Ports Company, with regard to railways, and the third section for Basra Governorate, which is dealing with conflicts and removing abuses.”
He pointed out that "the road has conflicts for more than 18 departments, and approvals will be taken from these departments at the governorate level to remove the conflicts, in addition to expropriations," noting that "according to the Prime Minister's directives, whenever a section is prepared after removing the transgressions or conflicts and expropriations, it is completed directly from construction and construction area.
He pointed out that "two stations will be in Basra for the railway, in addition to the express line, which will extend in 4 administrative units (Umm Qasr, Al-Faw, Al-Siba, and Al-Zubayr).
