Launching the electronic passport system in Kirkuk

Kirkuk Governorate opened the electronic passport system with international technical and security specifications, making it the eighth governorate operating in it.
Governor Rakan Saeed Al-Jubouri explained to “Al-Sabah” that his administration opened the electronic passport system, to begin working with it for the first time to serve the citizens of Kirkuk, and to simplify the procedures before them in obtaining the passport, noting that the governorate provided a modern building for the Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence, equipped with cooling systems and elevators. Electricity and computers, expressing his administration’s support for the process of using modern technologies and automation, in a way that enhances citizen confidence in state institutions.
It is noteworthy that Kirkuk Governorate is the eighth governorate that operates this system.
