[rtl]Baghdad / NINA / It was announced in the capital, Baghdad, today, Thursday, the launch of the national strategy in Iraq to prevent and reduce inequality in the world of work, under the auspices of the International Labor Organization and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and with the participation of trade union federations in Iraq.
The Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Asadi, said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ), “Today we signed an agreement with the International Labor Organization to prevent inequality in the labor market and move towards decent work in Iraq.
He explained that this agreement focuses on opportunities for both genders at work .” And supporting workers in the work environment. We also focused during the joint meetings with the representative of the International Labor Organization on the effects and climate changes that negatively affect Iraq, which faces a major challenge in this regard.”
He added, "The government is determined to confront these challenges by taking many steps, most notably signing international agreements and treaties, and cooperating with international organizations."
The strategy launch activities, which were signed by the Minister of Labor, Ahmed Al-Assadi, for Iraq, with the Deputy Regional Director of the ILO Regional Office in Beirut, Peter Rademaker, in the presence of representatives of government agencies in the Ministries of Labour, Planning, and Environment, international organizations, and UN missions, included the initiation of initial tripartite consultations on the new national program of work.
